The New Normal

The president of the United States has traditionally been a man to look up to and admire. For impressionable children, to everyday citizens, to future politicians who aspire to public office, the president establishes the emotional tone for the nation. If so, then Donald Trump has certainly lowered the bar for what is deemed acceptable in the run for national public office.

Trump’s crass and vulgar behaviour and blatant dishonesty has clearly demonstrated that those seeking public office don’t have to follow the rules of social etiquette. They can now essentially do whatever they can get away with… truth and integrity be damned.

I have some thoughts on this disturbing precedent.

See The New Normal in the Ramblings section of this blog.

* Here’s a thought… what will the Disneyland and Disney World imagineers have their Donald Trump robot say in the Hall of Presidents? Will it tell mothers to remove their crying babies from the hall? Will it stare at all the young girls’ breasts, and make pussy-groping motions with its hand? Will it brag about building a huge wall around the Epcot Mexico pavilion? Boggles the imagination, doesn’t it?

About wordswithbrad

Let's see. I guess first and foremost I am a life wanderer on a journey of discovery and experience. Can you tell I am a child of the sixties? Along the way I have become many things ... a College Professor (now retired after 28 wonderful years), a writer of both fiction and nonfiction, a singer/songwriter, a musician, an artist, a world traveler, a fan of science fiction and history, and a student of human nature. But my greatest accomplishments are being father to two of the most amazing and accomplished young men I have ever known, and husband to the incredible and delightful woman who made that possible.
